Mid Week Reflections
I would like to use this blog to help us reflect on what we have been learning each week. Each week I will post a new "mid week reflection" page where we can all comment on what we are learning in class. This week we began a discussion on immigration and everyone chose a "truth" that they felt strongly about. You were also asked to speak to family members about their immigrant experiences. What have you learned so far? How has your opinion of immigration changed? Has anything surprised you? Do you notice the impact of immigration in your community? Answer one of these questions or comment on anything else you would like to discuss. I value your thoughts and opinions. Lets hear them!!

Okay, I'll start. I learned that many of you have your own amazing immigration experiences. I'd also like to learn more about them. Would anyone like to share their story, or a story about their family?
I enjoy visiting your class because your students, and you, cause me to think about things. Having taught history I never thought about the "truths" about immigration but rather it was about "push" factors and "pull" factors. But your focus made me remember a trip to Ellis Island where I got to see the human side of immigration. Families that put their children on freighters for a voyage to the new world, the conditions they found when they reached Ellis Island. The fear, joy, elation, they must have felt. Thank you. You and your class are doing good work.
hi i just wanted you to know that i think that we should start having trips.
Trips...I'm working on it. I promise we'll go on a few trips.
I wouldn't think that a group project would be this STRESSFUL!!! Thx a lot mr.corbett can't believe it actually has to be done b4 brake!
Byeee... see ya 2morrow
I think that the immigrants had a tough time. They just had hope to depend on when taking that test. Most..almost all actually got in to stay in America... I didn't know dis much about immigrants 'till now!!!!
